Copernicus Sentinel-2 imagery and geostationary sensors from NASA registered possible fires or emergency flaring at the Khurais oil field in Saudi Arabia on Nov 7. The detection follows claims by Yemen’s Houthi rebels that they launched a wave of ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and drones targeting Saudi energy and military infrastructure. While the Houthi group also claimed to have hit the Riyadh international airport and an East-West pipeline pumping station in Al-Dawadmi, other reports of fires at Aramco plants remain unconfirmed and were described by some analysts as potentially unrelated to the attacks.
