Air defense systems shot down a ballistic missile targeting the Saudi capital on Oct 25. The Saudi civil defense had issued a danger alert for Riyadh shortly before the Saudi-led coalition confirmed that the Houthi-fired missile was intercepted and destroyed.
The strike is the latest in a series of consecutive attacks on the city, following similar Houthi launches on Oct 23 and Oct 24. During the Oct 23 attack, reports indicated a direct hit near Riyadh Airport and footage showed at least 5 missiles in the sky. Other reporting has noted GPS jamming activity in the eastern region of Saudi Arabia to counter drone threats.
