The regional soccer championship in Saudi Arabia will now take place from December 23, 2027 to January 21, 2028, after a scheduling shift by the Asian Football Confederation. The tournament was previously slated to run from January 7 to February 5, 2027.
The AFC cited logistical disruptions and exceptional regional circumstances as the reason for the move. The postponement follows ongoing attacks on the host nation by Houthi rebels from Yemen, amid broader tensions in the region involving Iran and the U.S.
