The Democratic party is projected to win majorities in both chambers of Congress in the final election forecast released by Decision Desk HQ. The model estimates Democrats will secure 241 seats in the House to 194 for Republicans and win the Senate with 52 seats compared to 48 for the GOP.
The projection places the probability of a Democratic House victory at 84%, the highest percentage the firm has forecast during the current election cycle. The final numbers follow a series of late October adjustments to seat ratings, including a shift to likely Democratic status for Ohio’s 9th district and a 60% probability of flips in states such as Alaska, Maine, and Texas.
