US envoy Jared Kushner detailed a proposed framework for a new European security architecture consisting of five principal goals to help establish the conditions for a lasting peace between Russia and Ukraine. The framework focuses on permanent security consultations, reliable crisis communications, increased military transparency, reciprocal measures to lower escalation risks, and a long-term security and stability framework.
The proposal follows discussions in Brussels with Ukraine, NATO, and European allies, where officials aimed to move beyond political declarations to create a practical system of security guarantees. These diplomatic efforts are intended to lay the groundwork for trilateral peace talks involving the US, Ukraine, and Russia in Abu Dhabi on Nov 10 and 11.
