A report from the French news agency AFP indicates that forces from Damascus have established a military presence on the frontier between Saudi Arabia and Yemen, citing regional defense officials. While neither government has confirmed a combat plan, the contingent of troops on the ground is estimated at several hundred personnel. This border positioning follows a strategic military pact and $403 million in concessional loans from the Saudi Fund for Development to rebuild Syrian infrastructure, including health facilities and the Aleppo power plant.
