The retaliation follows Houthi drone and missile strikes on October 6 and 7 at Abha International Airport and King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh. Those attacks killed three civilians—including a Sudanese man and two women of Moroccan and Algerian nationality—and injured 36 people. While the Gulf Cooperation Council described the strikes as "systematic crimes," coalition forces also confirmed they destroyed the specific launcher in Sanaa used to target Riyadh.
