The Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation has extended the closure of King Khalid International Airport until October 17 following a string of aerial attacks. In response, the U.S. government now requires its employees in Saudi Arabia to obtain special authorization to use any airport and prohibits travel within 20 miles of the Yemen border. The U.S. embassy also warned that American citizens have been detained by local authorities for photographing missile-defense activity or impact sites.
