The first attack hit airport facilities and the second targeted a parked Saudia aircraft, which had no passengers aboard. Airport operations have resumed and air traffic has returned to normal, the aviation authority said. More than 275 flights had been canceled following the Houthi attacks, while Lufthansa suspended Riyadh service through October 16 and Air India canceled flights through October 10.
The latest deaths followed attacks on Abha and King Khalid airports on October 6 and 7 that killed three people and injured 36. Houthi spokesman Yahya Saree claimed Thursday evening attacks on King Khalid with two cruise missiles, as well as ballistic missile attacks on Najran airport and Khamis Mushait airbase.
