A US official has confirmed that a Navy helicopter was destroyed by a surface-to-air missile near the coast of Saudi Arabia on October 5. The MH-60R Seahawk, which belongs to the HSM-48 squadron out of Naval Station Mayport, was shot down by Yemen's AnsarAllah into the Red Sea. Flight trackers showed the aircraft broadcast a 7700 general emergency code and rapidly lost altitude before it disappeared near the port of Yanbu.
