Flights to and from Riyadh were again on hold Tuesday morning, Flightradar24 reported. Yemen’s Houthis had claimed Monday that ballistic and cruise missiles and drones struck King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, the Aramco refinery in Rabigh, Abha Airport and several military sites. The group said the attacks answered 60 Saudi air and missile strikes in Yemen over the previous 24 hours.
Verified footage showed a fire at the Rabigh refinery, but Saudi authorities had not confirmed its cause or the claimed strike on Riyadh’s airport. The Houthis also warned international airlines to stop using Saudi airspace, calling it “an operations zone for our forces,” with exceptions for Mecca and Medina.
