The tanker carrying the first cargo of Russian diesel under the fuel supply deal between Presidents Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin updated its shipping destination to the “Atlantic coast” on Thursday, as New Jersey Governor Mikie Sherrill threatened to block the shipment from entering the Port of New York and New Jersey. The Malta-flagged Agioi Fanendes, which loaded 40,000 metric tons of ultra-low-sulfur diesel at Russia’s Baltic port of Primorsk on Oct 22 for a scheduled Nov 7 arrival, had initially signaled New York before dropping the port and switching its tracking status to “for orders.”
