Saudi Arabia’s Energy Ministry confirmed that an administrative building was targeted, causing a limited fire with no injuries or deaths. The blaze was extinguished, Bloomberg reported, citing a person with knowledge of the matter. The headquarters campus contains no oil production facilities.
Brent crude futures rose more than $1 to about $106.70 a barrel amid the Gulf escalation. The attack followed Saudi strikes on oil facilities in Houthi-controlled Yemen, including Sanaa’s Al-Sabaha station and Ras Isa port. Houthi spokesman Yahya Saree had threatened retaliation against Aramco’s headquarters, its Riyadh refinery and King Khalid International Airport if Saudi Arabia attacked the announced targets in Sanaa.
