Saudi authorities had not confirmed the aircraft incident. Earlier Thursday, the Saudi-led coalition said it intercepted two Houthi ballistic missiles headed toward Riyadh and another targeting Khamis Mushait. Saudi Civil Defense said interception debris damaged a kindergarten and a medical complex in the capital. Flightradar24 reported that Riyadh airport had closed again.
The latest attacks followed strikes on King Khalid and Abha International airports on Oct. 6 and 7 that killed three people and injured 36, Saudi aviation authorities said. The Saudi-led coalition said it responded by destroying 82 Houthi military targets across four Yemeni provinces, including missile storage sites and command centers.
