The Washington Post-Schar survey found 55% preferred Democratic control of the Senate, compared with 42% favoring Republicans, a wider gap than Jackson’s four percentage point lead. Collins had a 43% favorable rating and a 51% unfavorable rating, while Jackson’s ratings were 44% favorable and 43% unfavorable.
A Marist survey of registered voters conducted Oct. 1-4 also gave Jackson a four percentage point lead, at 51% to 47%. Yet 57% thought Collins would win, compared with 41% who expected Jackson to prevail. CBS News Polling continued to rate Maine a toss-up on Oct. 8, while Kalshi traders gave Jackson a 56% chance of victory and Collins 45%. This week’s debate did not move that market, CBS reported.
