The Democratic Party is expected to outpace its rivals in the aggregate total of votes cast for House seats by roughly 13 percentage points, according to projections from The New York Times as of early Wednesday.
If finalized, the gap would represent the most significant popular vote margin any political party has achieved in a congressional election since at least 1976.
