A private analysis of geospatial data revealed that Russian military spacecraft were positioned over target zones for several days surrounding a series of drone and missile strikes launched at Saudi Arabian infrastructure. The intelligence firm found this pattern persisted in every one of the 40 attacks by Houthi rebels and Iraqi militias that it examined between July 1 and Oct 19.
The Houthis and other regional allies have used intelligence from both Russia and China to coordinate these strikes, with Iranian advisers in the field managing the transfer of data, according to officials from Saudi Arabia and the Houthi leadership who spoke to the Associated Press. The targeting of military and oil installations has contributed to higher global energy prices, while some analysts suggest the support may be intended to drive up energy revenues for Russia.
