Oil and petroleum product shipments from the Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman dropped to a seven-day average of roughly 13 million BPD in late October, 37% below their 20.5 million BPD prewar average, according to provisional Kpler data that excludes Iran and Red Sea bypass routes. Even as exports slumped from a mid-October surge, Brent crude held near $110 a barrel as supertanker freight rates from the Gulf reached $36 a barrel to Singapore, $26 to the US, and $21 to Japan, where shipping costs are 15 times their $1.40 average in 2025.
