The Arab-led Ra’am party has signaled its willingness to meet security and military service requirements set by Gadi Eisenkot for entry into a new Israeli coalition, according to reports. If the agreement is finalized, the United Arab List would formally designate Hamas as a terrorist organization that must be disarmed and commit to the implementation of mandatory military service for both Arab and Jewish citizens.
The development follows an Oct 29 meeting between Ra’am leader Mansour Abbas and Democrats party leader Yair Golan. The two officials discussed the potential for a governing partnership aimed at establishing a new administration to replace that of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu following the most recent Knesset elections.
