Israeli police and state prosecutors disabled a network of suspicious accounts on X that were allegedly attempting to influence voters ahead of Tuesday’s Knesset election. The accounts were removed following a joint cyber operation intended to thwart election interference.
The action follows a similar move by the Shin Bet security agency to remove profiles linked to foreign influence campaigns. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has repeatedly warned that Iranian intelligence and its regional proxies are plotting operations to disrupt the Oct 27 vote, stating that Israel would respond to such interference with force.
