The internal model that OpenAI used to solve the Navier-Stokes equations will be the foundation for the company’s next lauch in the GPT series, CEO Sam Altman said. The solution to the complex math problem was reached by deploying 10,000 agents of the model to collaborate nonstop for approximately four days.
Altman described the result, which solves a Millennium Prize problem, as one of the most significant events in the history of artificial intelligence. He indicated that the updated model will be available to the public soon and suggested that other businesses would eventually be able to apply similar AI capabilities to their own operations.
