The average projected House gain of 19 seats is lower than the 40 seat gain Democrats achieved in 2018, partly because Republicans may flip seats redrawn ahead of the 2026 cycle. In the Senate, the highest flip probabilities are in North Carolina (82%), Alaska (60%), Texas (56%), Maine (53%), and Ohio (51%). This movement represents a sharp reversal from January, when VoteHub analysts gave Democrats only a 30% chance of securing a Senate majority.
