Saudi Arabia plans to increase its total bypass capacity to 10 million bpd within three years, primarily by upgrading pumping stations. To address immediate security threats, Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman is converting a natural gas pipeline to carry oil, a move that will add 1.2 million bpd of capacity within eight weeks. This conversion is temporary and will end in May to allow the line to supply power plants with gas during the summer months.
