President Trump stated during a campaign stop in Port Huron that Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed would be the only member of the U.S. Senate required to pass through a metal detector before entering the chamber. Speaking on Sunday, Trump also claimed that El-Sayed wants to implement Sharia law and asserted that the candidate should be the first person tried under that system if it were established. These remarks expanded on Trump’s previous accusations that El-Sayed’s family has ties to Al Qaeda and that the candidate refuses to disavow associate Hasan Piker.
Rapper Nicki Minaj appeared on stage at the rally to announce her permanent support for the president, declaring she would endorse him again if he were to run for a third term. During the event, Trump made sexually explicit remarks praising the musician’s “beautiful ass,” which he said was “hard to miss.” Trump also told the crowd that he does not mind Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez “that much,” while campaigning in support of Republican candidate Mike Rogers ahead of the midterm elections.
