President Trump campaigned in Georgia and Michigan to support Republican candidates for the 2026 midterm elections. Before departing for a rally in Port Huron, Michigan, Trump said Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed should be banned from serving in the Senate, calling him a “jihadist” and a “member of the Muslim Brotherhood.” El-Sayed, who would be the first Muslim U.S. senator if elected, is running against Republican Mike Rogers, for whom Trump held a rally featuring rap star Nicki Minaj.
