Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy claimed three oil tankers suffered explosions and fires along an unauthorized route in the Strait of Hormuz early Sunday, while the UK Maritime Trade Operations center confirmed two separate tanker strikes from Saturday night, including one that forced a crew evacuation. In its Sunday statement, the IRGC Navy said smoke from the burning vessels had spread across the waterway, blaming the blasts on the ships disabling their navigation and identification systems and “accompanying the US military.”
