The Israeli Central Elections Committee has delivered the official tallies of the Oct 27 general election to the presidency, concluding a review that found no evidence of systemic fraud. With the certified results now in hand, President Isaac Herzog begins consultations with representatives of the Knesset factions on Wednesday to start the process of forming Israel’s next government.
The certification specifically rejects allegations from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that Arab-led parties manipulated the vote to steal the election. While the commission found the election’s integrity remained intact, the Shin Bet security agency is continuing a separate investigation into claims of attempted electoral interference and foreign funding.
