Around 2,000 people, including nearly 50 children, face starvation after Russia stopped delivery of critical supplies in December 2025. To avoid death by hunger, dozens of civilians have attempted to flee on bicycles and mopeds through minefields because the Kremlin has refused to establish a humanitarian corridor. Local official Tetiana Hasanenko reported that Russian forces seize aid delivered by drones and detain residents for possessing food not produced in Russia.
