Michigan Democratic Rep. Haley Stevens called Republican Senate nominee Mike Rogers on Sunday morning to ask if they could attend a Detroit church service together after waking up angry over being disinvited from a Democratic unity event, she told The New York Times. Stevens did not inform any of her Democratic allies of the plan before appearing alongside Rogers and endorsing him two days before Tuesday’s election, even texting fellow Michigan Rep. Debbie Dingell at 7:45 a.m. that she was watching her television appearance after assuring Dingell at midnight that rumors of a defection were false.
