Japanese authorities briefly suspended trading in the benchmark 10 year government bond futures on Thursday as volatility from a technology selloff spread into the fixed-income market. The equity rout hit chipmakers particularly hard, driving Taiwan’s TAIEX index down about 9% and pushing TSMC shares to their daily limit down. In Tokyo, semiconductor-linked stocks plummeted, with SoftBank and Tokyo Electron shares sliding 14% and 13% respectively.
