Central Elections Committee Chairman Noam Sohlberg refused a demand by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud party to hold an emergency hearing and delay certifying the results of Israel’s Oct 27 election. Likud sought the delay over an ongoing Shin Bet investigation into suspected foreign interference and warned that a “black cloud” hung over the tally, while Sohlberg maintained that the vote was conducted properly and that the certified results will be presented to President Isaac Herzog as scheduled on Nov 4.
