Ukraine and Germany signed 15 agreements and documents worth more than €8.5 billion during Chancellor Friedrich Merz’s visit to Kyiv, covering security cooperation, production, procurement and joint projects. Germany’s separate support package of more than €1.3 billion includes about €1 billion in military aid and €350 million for winter energy support, along with financing for interceptors against jet-powered Shahed drones.
Russian attacks on Kyiv’s bridges continued for a fourth day during the visit. A drone struck the Northern Bridge again, damaging the roadway and halting traffic toward the Dnipro’s right bank. Russia launched 135 attack drones against Ukraine overnight, more than 50 of them jet-powered, Zelensky said.
