Houthi spokesperson Yahya Saree reported that F-15 and Typhoon aircraft have been operating from airbases across the southern Kingdom to target civilian sites. The Saudi military conducted 93 airstrikes and missile launches in 24 hours, hitting targets in Al-Jawf, Taiz, Saada, Marib, Hajjah, Lahij, Amran, and Ibb. These raids, launched from bases in Khamis Mushait, Taif, Al-Kharj, and Sharurah, bring the cumulative total of Saudi strikes since the current escalation to 2,793.
The intensified bombing follows raids in the Sahar district of Saada, where a strike on the Al-Qahoum family home left 33 people dead or wounded. Rescuers at the site found a control fin from a US supplied Paveway bomb guidance kit used with a MK 82 500 pound bomb. Continued conflict has kept Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport closed for 8 days, leading Akasa Air to suspend all flights to the city until Oct 27.
