The Palanca–Maiaki-Udobnoe border crossing’s operations were suspended on Oct 5 after a Russian projectile hit a passenger bus and a control booth. A member of the border police was wounded when the munition ricocheted into the checkpoint cabin and a vehicle operated by GAL Trans, an international bus operator. The Institute for the Study of War identified the incident as the first confirmed case of a Moldovan citizen being injured by Russian drone activity since the start of the war.
