President Trump said on Nov 4 that he does not fear potential impeachment and that any such attempt by his opponents would be politically ruinous for the Democratic party. The comments came during an unscheduled visit to a new White House ballroom construction site, where Trump spent more than 20 minutes discussing architectural features and signing a steel beam with the word “Love!” before addressing the Republican party’s loss of control over Congress in the U.S. midterm elections.
Trump attributed the GOP’s electoral defeat to the war with Iran, stating that the conflict had increased gasoline prices for voters. While he showed reporters the project’s progress and boasted that the ballroom would be drone and missile proof, he declined to take questions from the press pool during the initial portion of the event.
