Democrats won control of the US Senate to complete a midterm sweep of Congress, according to projections from the Associated Press, NBC News, CNN, CBS News and Decision Desk HQ. The party flipped six Republican held Senate seats across Iowa, Texas, Kansas, Ohio, North Carolina and South Carolina, giving Democrats committee control and the power to block President Donald Trump’s judicial and cabinet nominees for the final two years of his term.
