New Zealand’s general election concluded with neither of the two primary political blocs securing enough support to form a government without partners. After 100% of votes were tallied, the ruling National party won 42 seats and the opposition Labour party took 36, both failing to reach the 65 seat threshold required for an outright majority. The remaining seats were split between the Greens with 16, ACT with 13, NZ First with 12, the centrist Opportunity party with 7, and Te Pāti Māori with 5.
