A commercial vessel was struck by an unknown projectile 13 nautical miles west of Al Jazeera in the United Arab Emirates on Friday, according to the UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO). A separate incident was recorded a few nautical miles west of Ras Al Khaimah, adding to a recent series of attacks targeting ships further west in the Persian Gulf than previous engagements. These incidents bring the total to at least 15 ship attacks since September 28, including strikes on tankers near Fujairah and off the northern coast of Qatar.
