The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy attempted to target a U.S. Navy Arleigh Burke class destroyer in the northern Arabian Sea on Oct. 18. In response, F/A-18E/F Super Hornet fighter jets from the aircraft carrier USS George W. Bush conducted airstrikes against IRGC Navy targets in Konarak, southeastern Iran. Further airstrikes are expected to follow.
