Democrat Brian Poindexter has won the race for Ohio’s 7th Congressional District following a concession by incumbent Republican Max Miller early Wednesday. The result flips the seat to the Democratic party in a region that Donald Trump won by more than 10 points during the 2024 presidential election.
CNN, VoteHub and Decision Desk HQ called the race for Poindexter after early returns showed him maintaining a lead over Miller. Poindexter, a union ironworker who campaigned on workers’ rights and collective bargaining, will now represent the Ohio district in the U.S. House.
