French Fuel Shortages Hit 16% With Diesel Prices At All Time Highs

Government figures released Monday morning indicate that 18% of filling stations in the Île-de-France region around Paris are currently without fuel. The national shortage rate climbed to 16% from 11% on Saturday, and French diesel hit a record €2.42 a litre, or $10.52 a gallon. In the U.S., retail diesel prices topped $6.50 a gallon for the first time.
