President Masoud Pezeshkian announced that the Iranian government has received expanded powers from the nation’s Supreme Leader to engage in diplomatic talks to address current geopolitical crises. Pezeshkian stated that Tehran is committed to resolving international disputes through dialogue, explicitly noting that the government will attempt to settle its ongoing state of war with the US through such negotiations.
Despite the opening for talks, the president declared that foreign threats and military pressure will not lead the country to surrender or submit to what he called excessive demands. In a separate announcement, Pezeshkian pledged the rollout of targeted subsidies and reduced prices for essential goods to support disadvantaged populations and Iran’s border regions.
