President Donald Trump congratulated Democrats and said he will accept the midterm election results after the party won control of both the House and Senate on Tuesday, acknowledging that the eight month war in Iran and higher gasoline prices contributed to Republican losses. Speaking to reporters Tuesday night, Trump said he was “absolutely willing to accept those results” and looked forward to working with Democrats, while defending his decision to launch the conflict in February. “Iran was a piece of it,” Trump told the Wall Street Journal, adding, “I did the right thing. I would have done it again.”
