The warning followed a meeting between Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei and Iran’s top three military commanders: Abdollahi, Army Commander Major General Hatami and Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Commander Major General Vahidi. Khamenei ordered the armed forces to update their target bank to bring all tangible and intangible US and Israeli assets within reach, strengthen military intelligence and indigenous defense capabilities, and meet any threat with an immediate response regardless of location. Senior lawmaker Mojtaba Zarei, a member of parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, said Saturday that Iran’s revised defense doctrine makes any location used to launch an attack a legitimate target.

Khamenei’s directives build on earlier reports from the commanders of a several-fold increase in ammunition and weapons output alongside heightened readiness across the Persian Gulf, the Strait of Hormuz and the Sea of Oman. They also follow Friday remarks by US President Donald Trump, who told radio station KCMO the war with Iran would “get wrapped up soon” provided Washington secured a guarantee Tehran would never obtain a nuclear weapon.
