The Transgender Education Network of Texas has asked a court to force the carrier Infobip to reveal the identity of the sender behind election texts that impersonated the organization. Infobip has suspended the traffic but stated it will only disclose the customer’s identity upon receipt of a legal process.
The legal action follows a campaign of mailers sent by the Texas Transgender Student Union, a Wyoming entity formed in September that used the branding of the Transgender Education Network of Texas without authorization. While a USPS worker linked those mailers to a Maryland firm called SnailWorks—which has received more than $166,000 from the National Republican Congressional Committee since 2020—the firm has denied sending the materials and refuses to name its client.
