US President Donald Trump gave orders that allowed defeated Brazilian presidential candidate Flávio Bolsonaro and his family to enter the US on humanitarian parole, while a White House official arranged a private jet to help them flee Brazil, the New York Times reported. According to the Wall Street Journal, Bolsonaro’s escape to Miami was aided by Trump’s inner circle and Argentine President Javier Milei, with Trump adviser Jason Miller helping charter the Baires Fly Gulfstream aircraft in Puerto Iguazú after Bolsonaro’s convoy split into four decoy cars out of Brasília. The New York Times reported that Bolsonaro’s family will likely receive permanent US residency later, as his younger brother Eduardo did in July.
