The Senator from Vermont distributed nearly $2.3M in campaign funds to launder support for seven Democratic candidates in competitive Senate races. The largest transfer, totaling $1.26M, was sent to Michigan’s Abdul El-Sayed, while other recipients included Florida’s Angie Nixon ($330K), Minnesota’s Peggy Flanagan ($260K), and Maine’s Troy Jackson ($100K). The funding surge is intended to offset spending by the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), which plans to provide as much as $9M to a super PAC supporting Republican Mike Rogers.
