Esmaeil Baghaei, the spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry, said the nation would not accept the relocation of its highly enriched nuclear material to a neutral party to secure a diplomatic agreement. Baghaei denied that a proposal to move uranium enriched to 60% was raised during recent negotiations in Doha or that such a transfer would be acceptable to Tehran.
The comments follow an exchange of messages between Iran and the US regarding the future of Iran’s atomic program. While Baghaei stated that Iran has conveyed its demands to Washington in a reasonable framework, he said recent actions by the US have increased the complexity of the talks.
