The deliberative process follows a statement released Monday signed by 32 current and former Iranian officials demanding an immediate halt to cooperation with the treaty. Signatories include serving lawmakers Ebrahim Azizi and Fada-Hossein Maleki, as well as former intelligence minister Heydar Moslehi and former science minister Mohammad Mehdi Zahedi. These officials, some from the Raisi and Ahmadinejad administrations, called the withdrawal a strategic necessity because continued membership no longer serves the country's interests.
