The crisis began when a drone was identified south of Panevėžys in Northern Lithuania, prompting red air raid warnings across central and northern regions. Kaunas International Airport shut down until 8:00 AM and NATO air police were scrambled to intercept the craft. While local radio and security alerts previously reported that the drone was shot down, officials now state contact was lost and the craft is presumed crashed.
